Puppets for Pittsburgh offers free community workshops at Studio Capezzuti for those interested in learning more about making giant puppets.  Workshops are free and open to the public.

Here is the current schedule:

Puppet Making Studio

There is one more puppetmaking studio this summer. Come join the fun on Sunday, August 14 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Studio Capezzuti. Participants in this workshop learn about the art of giant puppet making while helping to repair the Puppets for Pittsburgh collection of giant puppets.

First Night Pittsburgh

Coming soon! This fall look for a number of event at Studio Capezzuti and at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Education Center including the crazy, fun Art Car workshop and programs for families. Join Cheryl Capezzuti and hundreds of Pittsburgh neighbors to make the First Night Pittburgh Parade happen at 8:00 PM on New Year's Eve.

Something Crazy?

Would you like to join a giant puppet dance squad? Cheryl Capezzuti is dreaming up a project that will include a number of puppeteers working with a choreographer over the course of months to create a performance troupe of puppeteers. This is in the seed-planting stage right now without a specific timeline.

Puppets for Pittsburgh was supported by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through its regional arts funding

partnership, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA). State government funding for the arts depends upon an annual

appropriation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

PPA is administered in this region by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.
