"The figurines were intriguing, but also somewhat unsettling, reminiscent of the claymation in Tool’s “Sober” video. The faceless, anatomically incorrect figures were arranged in different positions, each with a label underneath stating whose lint was used to make the figure.

Participate

My little girl neighbors, Beth, Alicia and April, regularly save and hand deliver their best lint for me to use in exhibitions and they are collecting quite a little family of Lint GuysUnfortunately, not everyone in the world with good lint to donate lives right across the street. If you would like to participate in the project, follow the directions below.

"Hairy Green Lint" from an anonymous source.

Here's how to participate:

  1. Wash your laundry (towels, blankets & rugs often have the best lint)
  2. Dry your laundry in a dryer (It is very difficult to get lint from air-dried clothes)
  3. Clean out your lint trap (it only takes one load to make a sculpture, depending on what you launder)
  4. Put you lint in a labeled plastic bag (label it with your name and address)
  5. Write me a note (tell me who you are, what you washed and how it holds meaning for you)
  6. If you feel like it, send a donation to the Project (you can decide the right amount)
  7. Put it all in a envelope and mail it to:

Someday, you may receive your lint sculpture. This usually happens after you've forgotten that you've even participated. Just so you know, Art takes time.
